TEDx: Independently organized TED event
Anukriti (USICT)
The students of USICT are organizing a TEDx event on the 17th of November, 2014 in the University Campus. TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. These people passionately believe in power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and finally the world. TEDx programs help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversations and connections through local TED like experiences. The objective of the event is to nurture this ideology and to provide a platform for a plethora of ideas. Speakers from various spheres are invited to come and share their views in this event where visionaries, innovators and thinkers will come together to capture the essence of positive change. A few of the speakers of TEDxUSICT are:
- Rashmi Anand - She has counselled hundreds of women at ‘Crime against Women Cell’ of Delhi Police and has taken a stand against domestic violence.
- Major Devender Pal Singh - India’s first marathon amputee runner. He has journeyed from being a soldier during the Kargil war to a marathon runner who overcame all odds.
- Jeroninio Almeida - A crusade Philanthropist whose missions like ‘Apeejay Karmayuga’, ‘Rex Ideas for Change’ have changed the lives of many people.
- Anshulika Dubey - She has got a corporate experience at McKinsey and Co. and has started ‘Wishberry’, an online crowdfunding platform for creative projects.
With the theme, ‘Crossing the Horizon’, TEDxUSICT is elucidating the hope, the belief and the conviction that there is a better world beyond the horizons.
Sanitizing university community, maintenance of classrooms, maintenance of water cooler and RO, cleaning of sewage lines prone to overflow and ensure proper functioning of all the urinals, washbasins and toilets of the campus were few other works under the campaign. Cleaning campus in every sphere was the main factor on which university majorly focused.
